Today is August 9, 2022 -
Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ) was founded in 1918 by Mathilde Schecter and is an active arm of the worldwide Conservative/Masorti movement.
The IntraContinental Region (ICR) was officially created in 2008 and was a merger of two “branches” – Midwest and Southwest. Karen Lukin was installed as the first President of the newly created Region at our conference in Colorado Springs, CO. Other Past-Presidents are Judy Goldstein, Elly Sokol, Ardis Wexler and Cindy Ginsburg.
Our mission is to serve as a connection between WLCJ, its affiliates and members. We are here to support out affiliates in mutual efforts to understand and perpetuate the Conservative/Masorti movement, reinforce our bonds with Israel and with Jews worldwide.
Our IntraContinental Region is spread out over 2 million square miles and has over 2,200 Women’s League members. These women represent 22 Conservative congregations – six from states in the United States, two from Canadian Provinces and two from Mexico City, Mexico. We also have individual members, all who have access to WLCJ classes and materials.
