Welcome to Southern Region
Women’s League for Conservative Judaism

In the beginning, 1958, we were a “Branch in Training”. Eleven Sisterhoods participated in our first conference in 1959 where Phyllis Weinstein was chosen to be our leader. Women’s League officially accepted us as a Branch at Convention 1960 and Phyllis Weinstein became our first president.

We continued to change, becoming Southern Region in 2007, and to grow, welcoming in 2008, our newest affiliate transferring from Seaboard Region, Beth David Sisterhood, Greensboro, North Carolina. Today, we encompass the great states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee with 19 Sisterhood affiliates.

Our mission is to serve as a connection between Women’s League and its affiliates and members and to provide services that will strengthen our Sisterhoods.

Baruch Dayan HaEmet
